Toyota Aurion Cars

Toyota cars are a key player in the auto market, and when it comes to sedans, the Aurion is a well-known offering, alongside the Camry. The Aurion came out in two generations and had a number of good features.

First Generation (XV40)

The first generation of Aurions were available in four models and produced from 2006 to 2012. The four models are the AT-X, the basic model, the Sportivo ZR6 and SX6 that were the sporty models, the semi-luxury Prodigy, and lastly the Presara, which was the model at the highest end. There is also the TRD Aurion, an Australia-only release that features a supercharged engine and full bodykit.

Second Generation (XV50)

The second generation of Aurions were known in other parts of the world as the Toyota Camry, but in Australia and New Zealand the name was maintained. This generation had the same models of cars as the previous one, until 2014 where the Prodigy trim came off, and the two Sportivos combined into a single Sportivo model. In August 2017, all Toyota Aurion models ceased production in Australia.

Features of Aurion Cars

Aurion cars are 4-door sedans that carry either the I4 or V6 engines, and ride on the Toyota K platform. It is available in both automatic and manual transmissions, and even a CVT transmission for some models. The AT-X is the entry level Aurion, but still offers some useful features like power windows and mirrors. The Sportivo models have a unique sports body kit design, and also feature sports seats, sports suspensions, sports headlights, and so on, with ZR6 upping the game even more with a high specification interior as well. The Prodigy is similar in structure to the AT-X, but extra features like parking sensors, a more polished interior, and dual-zone air-conditioning and so on. The Presara is the most lavish Aurion of them all, with posh specifications like electric seats, a moon roof, satellite navigation, a push start system, auto-adjust mirrors, and a reversing camera, among others.
