Zip Pay – Minimum monthly repayments are required. A monthly account fee of $9.95 applies. This fee is waived each month you pay your statement closing balance, in full, by the due date. Available to approved applicants only. T&Cs apply - opens in new window or tab
Zip Money – Interest free term subject to minimum spend and promotional partner offer. Available to risk eligible and approved applicants only and subject to completion of satisfactory credit check. Instalment plan splits eligible purchases of $300 and above into equal repayments within the interest free period. The repayment advertised will repay the transaction balance within the interest free period. A monthly account fee of $9.95 will also apply and a one-off establishment fee may apply for new customers. If you turn off instalments, all future transactions will be reverted to the minimum monthly repayment. Minimum monthly payments are required – paying only the minimum monthly repayment may not necessarily repay a purchase within the interest free period. Any balance outstanding at the expiry of the interest free period will be charged at the standard variable rate, 25.9% per annum, as at 1 May 2023. Other charges may be payable. Interest, fees and charges subject to change, see T&Cs and your contract for further details. Credit provided by ZipMoney Payments Pty Ltd (ABN 58 164 440 993), Australian Credit Licence Number 441878.
Zip is an eligible payment method under eBay Money Back Guarantee - opens in new window or tab, meaning purchases may be protected assuming all other eligibility requirements are met. For details, please read our full eBay Money Back Guarantee policy.
When can I pay with Zip?
Zip is available for most purchases on eBay.com.au. If an item has Zip available, you'll see it as a payment option on the listing page and at checkout.
If you don't see Zip available at checkout, it could be because:
- Your order total is over AU $5,000
- You've selected a delivery address outside Australia
- Your order includes items from excluded categories
- You're using an older version of the eBay app.
Tip
To pay for some items separately, select Remove to put them back in your cart. You can also select Save for later next to items in your cart before going to checkout.
How to pay with Zip
If Zip is available for your eBay purchase, simply select it as your payment option at checkout. If you don't already have a Zip account, you'll be able to apply for one while completing the payment process with Zip.
Here's how to pay with Zip on eBay:
- At checkout, select Zip from the list of payment methods.
- Review your order and delivery details, then select Pay with Zip.
- Sign in to Zip, or apply for a Zip account.
- Choose your preferred Zip account for purchase.
- Select Confirm payment. It may take a few moments for the Zip payment to be processed and your order to be confirmed. Please don't close the payment window or use your browser's Back button.
Tip
If you're using a voucher or an eBay gift card, you can still use Zip. Make sure you enter the redemption code(s) and select Apply before finalising your order.
Repayments
Zip will automatically charge your repayments to the payment method on your Zip account. You can keep track of your Zip account and manage your repayments by signing into Zip or using the Zip app.
Sign in to Zip - opens in new window or tabFor questions about how repayments work and managing your payment schedule, please see Zip's information about repayments - opens in new window or tab.
Tip
eBay is not able to view your repayment plan. If you have any questions about repayments, interest or fees, or require assistance, please get in touch with Zip - opens in new window or tab.
Refunds
If you're getting a refund for your eBay purchase (for example, because you returned an item), the refund amount will be credited to your Zip Pay or Zip Money account. Refunds are typically available within 3-5 business days. For more help with refunds on eBay, please see our article on returns, missing items and refunds.
Once the refund has been processed, you'll see it on the Activity tab of your Zip account or in the Zip app, as well as your updated Zip account balance. For questions about receiving a refund to your Zip account, please see Zip's information about refunds - opens in new window or tab or get in touch with Zip.
Problems paying with Zip
Here are some reasons why you may be having trouble paying with Zip:
Your order is not eligible for Zip
Zip is available for most purchases on eBay.com.au, but some categories are excluded (see eligibility information). You may need to remove items and pay for them separately, or choose a different payment method to complete your purchase.
Your eBay order wasn't confirmed, but the transaction is shown in your Zip account
This can happen if you accidentally closed the Zip window or used the browser's Back button while the Zip payment was still being processed. Although eBay checkout was incomplete, the order amount may be shown as a pending transaction in your Zip account. Rest assured that pending amounts for unconfirmed orders are typically removed within a few hours.
Your Zip payment was declined
If Zip can't approve your payment, they will let you know why – but it's most likely to be for one of these reasons:
- You don't have a valid payment method linked to your Zip account
- You've reached Zip's spending limits for your account
- Your Zip account is overdue or on hold
For more information on why your Zip application may have been unsuccessful, please visit Zip's help centre - opens in new window or tab and get in touch with Zip if you have any further questions.
Your browser or app is not up to date
Older web browsers may not be secure enough for making payments or managing your payment methods. For more information on updating your browser, see our Technical issues article.
Zip isn't supported in older versions of the eBay app. For more information on updating your app, see our article on Using the eBay app.
Tip
You can still pay for your order with another payment method such as a debit or credit card. Simply switch the payment method at checkout.
