Hayao Miyazaki's CASTLE IN THE SKY is a rousing adventure that follows an orphan named Sheeta as she eludes the clutches of a secret agent named Muska while trying to discern her family's history. After her first escape from Muska, Sheeta meets up with a young boy named Pazu, whose father, a photographer, was disgraced after he took a picture of the legendary flying island of Laputa and had it dismissed as a hoax. When the two realize that a family heirloom Sheeta carries allows them to levitate, the two begin a search for the lost island, trailed by Muska, who is also searching for Laputa.

    Fun and engaging Anime, suitable for ages five to adult. Enjoyable for kids of all ages (including me). Below are pro and con bullet points: Pro 1) Beautiful soundtrack scored by Joe Hisashi. 2) A mysterious princess from an island in the sky. 3) A floating island in the sky. 4) Lots of cool steampunk flying machines! 5) Sky Pirates!!!!!! 6) Normally I prefer the original Japanese dialogue in Anime, but this movie has an excellent English dub.     Rottem Music in Disney's Blu-Rey

    Regarding “Castle in the Sky” Disney version only. Positive: The movie, artwork and voice actors were top notch, Negative: Synthesizer music in the movie was awful considering the artist that wrote the score did such a good job. You must know that a music score can make or break a movie. The missing vocabulary in the Disney movie was very distracting also.

    Well made and a fun watch

    Not really into Japanese animation however this film is awesome with some of the best hand drawn animation I have seen. The story is good, some of the characters are goofy but it's still a great film.
