    This item operates exactly as it should....

    This item operates exactly as it should. However. more warning about installation should be given before the purchase. Example: Know how to gain access to the item. Know how to align the shaft and screw holes before installation. I found that the alignment was the most difficult part of the process.

    Second Replacement

    I've replaced this same one twice now. It looks, installed and matched the original. In less than 6 month I've had to replace the same one twice. All the others I've replace still work great and it's been over a year. This one didn't last 2 months before it started to knock.

    Dorman Actuator

    Great product work very well as this is my second Dorman Actuator they work good,but they need to be made of metal gears in side of them and they would never wear out ! But there cheep enough to replace I have read a lot of reviews and all wish they were made with metal gears because this part is on a lot of chev and my Impala has had 2 of the same one replaced now less then 2 years and the car is a 2008 and I love the car just not this recouring problem lets hope some one inproves this problem soon.

    OEM quality at a fraction of the cost

    The plastic gears in these blend door actuators tend to wear out after a few years, so replacing them periodically is a fact of life if you plan to keep your car for more than a year or two. Installation is fairly easy with basic hand tools and the quality is at least as good as the original at about half the price. This particular actuator was less expensive even than a rebuild kit so choosing it was a 'no-brainer'.
