    The Era of Churchill

    Like most of Larson's work, "The Splendid and the Vile" is well researched and engaging. Churchill and his era during the bombing of London are an interesting study, and Lardon's source material depicts an extraordinary figure of history during challenging times. The courage of the British people and their captivating leader are depicted in a narrative interesting to anyone.

    A very detailed and extremely well written "insider's look" into the daily life of Churchill, his family, and friends in 1939-1940 before and during the Blitz bombings of London. Reading it is like being there; I couldn't put it down. An awesome read!
