      The Bass9 versus B9

I think the bass 9 is a very good tool if you wanna just use a 6 string guitar to play bass in a band... however you may encounter distortion at certain levels, specially cording a note. At this point just playing guitar I get a nice sub bass out of the B9 turn down very mildly with the click off.. even though there some click still there, which I don't like if it's turn off, it should be off and it isn't. But I do prefer the B9 over the Bass9 for lower guitar bass sound running to one amp clean and running the effects on to another amp such as a 59 basemen. It would have been nice that the Bass 9 would have a sub in it but it doesn't... maybe that requires a whole different circuit board I don't know... But anyway I'm keeping both...

    • Huge, realistic bass sound - goodbye octavers for ever.

This thing is magic. I play both guitar and basses (double, P and Jazz AND Bass VI) but I now find that using the Virtual bass setting on this played with my guitar, I can pretty much pull off a perfect P bass sound on the spot! Especially if I run the extra output directly to my bass amp. I've owned lots of EHX, Pitchfork, C9 and others and I can say that this unit tracks the fastest out of all of them and the organic sound of the bass is HUGE.

    • In place of a bass.

I do not play bass, but need one in my recordings and performances. It would seem 9 bass sounds are not enough, but I think these work as far as my needs. You can play bass sounds from a guitar (as I do). you can run it in stereo with guitar in one amp, and bass in another. This is great for doing parallel lines of sounds. So for all you wanna-be bass guitar players, your ship has come in.

    • Convincing bass sound from an electric guitar

This has a really good bass/cello sound. I'm using it with a Yamaha silent guitar and a Mustang II amp on the bassman setting. Sounds very convincing and no buzz of the speaker.

    • Simulated Bass Player!

I’ve been brainstorming a way to play some live shows as a 2 man band for a while. I came across a YouTube video about this pedal and I had an idea! If I take an AB/y splitter pedal, I can send my guitar signal to this pedal, and to a separate bass amp, and I now have a simulated bass player! Sounds awesome. Love my EHX bass9 pedal
