      No cushioning material, Alternator arrived practically out of the box after being thrown around by Fed Ex. Upon installation, unit would not charge the truck. Had to test, disassemble, and re-orient the brushes (that showed some wear) to get it to charge. Unit was very clean, perfect case, had good bearings, stator, regulator, and rectifier. An excellent alternator made in USA, so with the extra effort this was still a good buy and far better than a Chinese copy. I recommend this e-bayer.
