Whether you are upgrading a hard drive or expanding the storage space, the Toshiba 2TB DT01ACA200 internal drive is an excellent choice. By skipping the 1TB HDD for the 2TB capacity drive, you can store up to 33,320 hours of digital music, 640,000 high-quality images, 2,000 hours of digital video recording, and 500, two-hour, DVD-quality movies. You can use the 2TB of storage by itself or with a 500GB, or even a 1TB, hard drive. The DT01A Series Toshiba internal hard drive has a 3.5-inch form factor and is easy to install. These internal drives fit into most desktop computers using one, 7-pin SATA interface with a data transfer rate of 6GB per second. A SATA connection lets you plug and play. When you connect the SATA III to the motherboard, it should automatically recognize the drive. This Toshiba drive series has excellent performance levels, with an external transfer rate of 600MBps and a spindle speed of 7200 Revolutions Per Millisecond. The RPMs measure the average mechanical latency of the drive. With this HDD, you will enjoy an average latency of just 4.17ms. The DT01ACA200 HDD has a large, 64MB cache buffer, which complements the drive’s 2TB of storage capacity. This model in the DT01ACA Series uses 1TB-per-platter technology and the device’s high performance 7,200RPM spindle speed for fast, accurate data processing. It also offers a lower power consumption average than earlier Toshiba drive series. The 64MB cache holds data and basic programming for the drive, which leads to faster transfers and quicker recall, before storing it in the drive’s 2TB. Before installation of the DT01ACA200 Toshiba HDD, backup any data on the current drive. Consider implementing this step whenever working with internal devices to prevent the loss of valuable information. While you can reinstall software, damage to the hard disk can still corrupt associated files. Connect the DT01ACA200 Toshiba HDD’s SATA interface to the first hard drive slot on the motherboard, if you are replacing the current disk with the new 2TB one. You should use the second slot to add it as a storage drive. This drive uses 6.4 watts of power while working and only 5.2 watts when it’s idle. Instead of upgrading to an expensive new computer, save time and money with just an upgrade to your hard disk. The 2TB Toshiba HDD with a 64MB cache buffer is an excellent way to increase speed and storage, as well as add a large, internal backup drive. Treat yourself to a faster computer with more storage or gift a DT01ACA200 Toshiba HDD to a friend who could do with something extra in their PC.

      Awesome hard drive, fast and quiet!!!

      When Western Digital bought HGST, the Judge ordered WD release some Hard Drive IP to Toshiba to maintain competition in HD storage market. Toshiba has improved on the WD technology and this drive is faster (Sata 3), has more cache (128MB) and longer warranty (5 years) than the competition. I bought 2 of them and used one for cloud storage in my home!
