    Required Reading for Every Serious Aussie Gardener

    As a child of the 50s, when the Australian dream was to own a house on a quarter acre block, I was intrigued by the title of this book as soon as I saw it in the gardening section of our local library. I borrowed it immediately. I found Peter Timms's well written account of the history of the Australian suburban garden both informative and interesting. I decided a copy was needed for our own book shelves. As the book has been out of print for a number of years, I turned to ebay and found a copy in excellent condition at a good price. It now has pride of place amongst our own gardening books. It's a good read and discusses the historical and social development of the suburban quarter acre block. I highly recommend this book to any gardener who wants to better understand the development ...
