After two years running from the law, Ben Hall is soon drawn back into bushranging by the reappearance of his old friend, John Gilbert. Reforming the gang and taking on new recruit John Dunn, the trio begins a spree of robberies and crimes across New South Wales. After the killing of two policemen, they become the most wanted men in colony. When the Government moves to declare them outlaws that can shot on sight, Ben Hall makes desperate plans to flee the colony; with such a large bounty on their heads, treachery abounds where they least expect it. Ben Hall is the 'Jesse James' of Australia's colonial history, yet few people know his name or his remarkable tale. "The Legend of Ben Hall" will change that forever.       Great Australian History

      Ben Hall is Australia's second best known bushranger, and a man that Ned Kelly greatly admired. This movie focuses on the last few months of Ben Hall's life and the director has taken great pains to make it as historically accurate as possible in the narrative, costumes, weapons, you name it. The excellent cast look enough like the actual persons they are portraying as to be instantly recognisable. This is the best biopic of this fascinating and complex Australian.

      Beautifully filmed with some great acting

      The filming is exceptional adding mood and character to the story. I was very impressed by the location shots which highlighted the beautiful Australian countryside in a way that other films have not managed to do. I am unsure about the depiction of the attempted Araluen Gold Robbery as I thought that the equally notorious Clarke Brothers were involved in that alongside Ben Hall, however, I may be wrong and stand to be corrected. The acting was good by everyone involved especially the lead Jack Martin as Ben along with Jamie Coffa as the flamboyant John Gilbert. The wild Australian territory was as wild as the wild west if not more so - we just haven't been exposed to it as we have the wild west by Hollywood.       Loved it

      Reasonably historically correct as explained by the director and his advisor. I didn't think the film was too long. In fact, I would love to see the "director's cut" covering much more of the Ben Hall story. I look forward to any other films about the other bushrangers.
