An Inexpensive Upgrade for you HP Z440v2 Workstation, Good Performance.

Passmark multi in the 22000 range for the E5-2697v4 the E5-4667v4 max processor it replaces only had about 19000 so a vast improvement in performance. Relatively inexpensive compared with E5-2699v4 spent about $75 CAD on the CPU 2.3GHz Base frequency 3.6GHz Turbo uses PC4-2400T Ecc Reg ram relatively Fast as RAM Goes for Workstation. Have it installed, no difficulty, in My HP Z440v2 02/July 2014 Boot Block date M60 Bios works perfectly no issues, and fast enough for my needs. 17nm Die Process vPro Intel Chip Good Buy. Recently gave this 440 to a friend bought a second 440 for myself with a E5-2697A V4 16 cores at base frequency 2.6GHz with windows 11 pro where it is faster, but for mx-23 linux the E5-2697 V4 18-core is faster on the hp z440v2.

    Expensive Modest Upgrade

Performance boost for $430.00 ( 18 core 2.30 GHZ )? Not really noticeable. It should render 3 times faster than my Intel ( 6 core ) i7 4 GHz chip, but I really do not see it. Single core should go to turbo--which would make it just a tad slower than the i7, but it never gets to 3.6, only about 3! It is rendering faster, but not what I expected. Single core performance is noticeably slower, but livable. The reason to go to xeon? Did not have to change out any of the original components to get a speed boost. If I upgrade to AMD, I have to change out motherboard, maybe power supply, maybe memory. The price different would be double or triple what I paid---but it would be at least twice as fast as the xeon! I have managed to get the xeon to render at 2.65 GHZ, that's for all 36 CPU's, so ...

bought two of these for a X10DRD-iNT and they both work perfectly so far. Packaging worried me at first, both CPUs were placed into the same small plastic shell and stapled. they had thin foam separating them, then that plastic shell was placed into a bubble wrapped envelope. they arrived undamaged but a box would have been preferred .

  • Excellent XEON upgrade to HP Z840 Workstation.

Awesome upgrade to HPZ840! Runs cool and much faster than original V3 10 core CPUS. I highly recommend doing the upgrade the these newer XEONS.
