        Passionate, inspiring and spiritually deepening in many ways beyond just the music itself.

        Jacqueline Du Pre was an exceptional artist who played with maximum intensity and sensitivity. She also found such great joy in living, even when faced with a debilitating disease. Here, she plays the complete Elgar Cello Concerto (conducted by Barenboim) and partners with other musicians in Beethoven's Ghost Trio. Both are "classic" performances that come across with great elan and passion. Quite unique among many other recordings currently available. A MUST for any classical music lover (or for anyone who wants to see how a musician here on Earth for such a short time enriched the lives of many listeners).
