      Filter itself fine....BUT

      I'm disappointed in the quality of the charcoal pre-filter that sticks to the main filter cartridge. It used to be much more dense...couldn't see through it and it felt scratchy like a loofa. Now...the charcoal pre-filter is VERY thin, soft, and "airy" by comparison. Not sure the downgrade will be very effective?. Overall the quality of the main cartridge seems to be the same. Fantastic air purifier in general.

      The Generic 9.49 is far superior.

      This "Name Brand" filter has made a nose dive from what used to be offered. Best now is the replacement offered without the "Name brand" on it for 9.49. Also, buy the Charcoal Filters offered on eBay to use instead. These are way more dense and more akin to what the originals used to be like.

      Lasts a long time, keeps room clean, but very expensive

      These are very expensive, though in my experience they last quite a long time, as long as 6 months on low speed setting on the unit itself. I agree with other comments about the prefilter, it could be heavier duty but perhaps that would restrict airflow. In any event, even though these aren't a great value, I prefer OEM made in North America over knockoffs from overseas.

      Great value.

      This is an excellent aftermarket replacement filter for my filtration unit. It meets all of my expectations as a HEPA filter, and appears to function as well as the original name-brand filters which I received with the unit.

      Excellent value economical substitute

      Though not the genuine filter, this replacement has the same filtration as the original. Differences: The black foam prefilter is not as nice, but I simply replaced it with the original one after soaking it in chlorine bleach and rinsing well. The replacement's dimensions are just a tad smaller and may not trigger the safety switch at the bottom, but all I had to do was bend the switch tab out a little and it worked fine. Most importantly, the filter element seems to do just as well as the original, and the filter works extremely well.
