    Richard III

    It's a different take on Shakespeare's Richard III. Set in London of post-2nd World War when the Third Reich is in charge. Very strange and surreal. Ian McKellen pulls it off! It's a classic but don't expect anything to be like the original Shakespeare, except the language and you don't notice it after a while. Very engaging but weird. It deserves some study and I'm not finished with thinking about it. The dvd also includes a separate commentary.

    ENJOY WHAT YOU DO

    The story is as fresh and relevant today as when Shakespeare wrote his words centuries ago. 'Now is the winter of our discontent...' alright. Ian Mckellen looks like he was relishing the role. In fact Sir Ian looks like he is one of those people who has had something of a gifted life. Good on him.

    Highly recommend

    This 2 disc set is brilliant. I saw this at the cinema decades ago and it hasn't aged one bit. Fabulous cast and just so brilliantly conceived in the late 1930s.
