The caller ID displays the name, number, day, and time of each call. The display appears on an easy-to-read backlit LCD screen. The telephone answering system can be turned on or off as desired. DECT cordless technology allows dual-mode speaker phones. The VTech DS6151 2-line cordless phone is an expandable system. You can increase the number of handsets up to 12 with just one integrated phone jack. Both the handset and the base include speaker phones. Everyone is able to hear the details of a telephone conversation clearly. You can adjust the volume on each handset, and these phone accessories are compatible with hearing aids. You won't miss important telephone calls while you're multitasking because you can place a handset in each room. The range from base to handset is 100 feet or more depending on obstructions. You can transfer a telephone call from one handset to another with the press of a button. Conference calls can include one outside line and up to four handsets. Each cordless handset allows you to plug in a headset. The sound is clear whether you’re listening directly through the handset or through the headset. You can also locate misplaced handsets from the base. You can make, answer, or end a call from handsets or the base. The VTech DS6151 expandable cordless phone can store ID/call information for 50 callers, all available at your fingertips. You can recall up to 20 numbers for redial. The system will save the numbers of missed calls, and the VTech digital answering system will record up to 13 minutes of messages for you. Separate mailboxes are provided for each line, and a light will turn on to tell you when you have messages waiting. Setting up of the VTech DS6151 cordless phone is easy. It doesn’t matter if you have both lines coming through one phone jack or a jack for each line. Either way, it’s a simple matter to plug the jacks into the base, so there’s no need for a splitter or other accessories. The menus are easy to follow. You may choose from English, French, or Spanish for your displays. Features include large function buttons. The system includes the basics such as directory, hold, redial, and flash. Additional functions include intercom, pause, and pulse to tone. Numerals on the keypad are large and backlit for ease of use. A light flashes to let you know which phone line is in use when you receive or make a call. You can even select ringtones to identify callers for complete customization with this VTech device.

    Very functional telephone system

    Great package, it set up easily, good range on the portable phones and the audio quality is very good. It has many useful functions including an illuminated screen on the base station which makes it easy to identify a caller. I'm very happy with this product.

    vtech 2 line phone

    Ordered one base and 2 handsets. Easy to set up, sound quality good, but not great and the handset is comfortable. One cradle came in defective and Vtech was good in replacing the whole set even though I only needed the cradle. I originally called the actual shipper 3 times before he called back. Then he shipped me the cradle reasonably quickly. One design flaw is that the red charging light stays lit all the time and doesn't turn to green to let you know that the handset is fully charged. This is particularly irksome if the handset has run down the battery and you don't know whether you can have a complete conversation before the handset shuts down.

    Positives and negatives: Vtech DS6151 + DS6101 2-line phone

    Overall, I like the Vtech DS6151 and the extra handset DS6101 and believe my choice to purchase it was the best decision given those available. I also purchased an extra base station and 4 additional handsets so some of my comments reference that experience. That being said, here are my observations. The good: * Setup was easy: plug in; attach phone line(s) and you are set. * Clarity of sound for calls is very good. * Signal coverage is good, even for one base station to its registered handsets. The not-so-good: * Lacks individualized ring tones for those in your directory. * Lacks the ability to announce the name and number of the caller. * Lacks the ability to rename the handsets (or the 'base' station). * Extra base station does not interfere, but at the same time, does not work in ...

    nearly Perfect

    Nearly perfect - the only issue is thet they do not provide you with information regarding the socket type which was only 100v.. which does not match with Malta and UK. I had to spend another euro50- in sockets to make it work. I believe that by replacing these sockets with 100-240v this would make a perfect sell. However, delivery was fine and the set is working well...a pity only on this.A great buy.

    Lots of features, low price.

    Can't really beat all the features included, the range, or clear sound, for anywhere near the same price. You have to get use to the menus and buttons a little, but was easy to set up and most defaults didn't need to be changed. Had just about every feature one would want on a two line phone, plus the ability to add lots of additional handsets. Main complaint is the handset LED indicator doesn't blink when there is a message waiting, making you have to pick it up and activate the screen to check. At least the Base Station flashes, but that doesn't help when you have handsets everywhere else. One other minor feature missing was that there is no option to select whether to auto answer when you pick up the handset. Other than that, you just can't beat this product for anywhere near the ...
