This card uses a slightly less-powerful version of the same processor that is found in the GeForce 9800GT, an old but very good card. While the reference version features DDR2 memory, this OEM features GDDR3, like its GeForce 9800 counterpart. I haven't benched these two cards against eachother, but I am under the impression that this card would perform almost on-par with a 1GB GeForce 9800GT. While this card is a little bit less powerful than the GeForce 9800GT, it uses less power and runs off the PCIe socket without additional power from the PSU. I used this card to replace a GeForce 7600 in my older Core2 Duo system. Even though this is an OEM card and not an enthusiast-class card, it is still quite an upgrade from the 7600. I haven't gamed much with it and I haven't benchmarked ...

    • Cost efficient

For the price, not bad. Won't be playing some current gen games on it, and most will run on low. But I was able play Life is Strange and CS:GO with the card. Not bad for the price. If you can get it for under 30, I wouldn't have a second thought

    • Solid capable older hardware and affordable for an experiment.

I had an old Dell Optiplex 780 in the closet which I'm useing to test an idea for my main machine.I bought this for a duel boot Win7 Ubuntu machine. Both OS's found and automatically installed drivers. I had previously installed an HP Asus Neon with duel DVI, there was no conflict or excessive power demand. I have successfully set up 3 monitors on it and I see no reason I cant also install an HDMI monitor as well which is what I currently have on my main machine. It seems minimally capable of older first person shooters on both OS's. via Steam. This was an experiment to prove viability for the more extreme hardware in my main machine. So far I'm very happy with the results, both of the experiment and the video card.
