      Step Saver!

      As any farmer knows, electric fencing is great to keep cattle confined but prone to shorts. Sometimes finding them can be difficult. This device has some nice features and a steep learning curve. I am not going into the feature/learning, the instructions will do that. Knowledge of 'volt' and 'amp' will help; the meter does a good job of showing it. HOW you interpret that and use it needs some practice. So do not get frustrated and be patient. What helps is having handles, not hard wired, at junctions to eliminate areas. In this case the meter did not work on arrival but needed a new battery. All is well not and developing my skill on it.

      Couldn't solve my problem without it.

      I spent over 6 months trying to discover why my electric fence had no bite. I disconnected sections at a time, had the fencer tested, replaced the ground and power wires and walked the fence line daily to no avail, but the Fault Finder found it easily.

      Great find! Great product!

      I was having some electric fence issues and a friend recommended the Gallagher Fault Finder. I found a great deal with a new fault finder for a great price. I am able to monitor my fence and find the location of any problem easily with the directional arrows. It's also small enough to put into my pocket. Saves me lots of time!

      Item took 7 days to reach Texas. Seems like a quality tool, the fault finder. Included battery CR 2032 went dead after using it for just 10-15 minutes

      Gallagher fault finder

      It is a sophisticated instrument that detects voltage and the general direction of the short in an electric fence. I know of no other tester on the market that does this and it works well. It is pricey but I am well pleased with it.
