In addition to the requisite visual improvements that go hand-in-hand with a PS2 update of a PlayStation title, this third installment of the 3D Street Fighter EX series adds a tag feature similar to Tekken Tag Tournament that allows for two-on-two battles. Also new is a character edit mode that lets you train the character Ace from a weakling with no special moves into a fighting powerhouse. Familiar SF2 characters like Ryu, Guile and Chun Li are on hand, as are EX regulars such as Skullomania and Doctrine Dark.

(Street Fighter EX3) A game that's better then people give it credit for.
I love the EX series. Especially EX2 being my favorite. This game sadly gave the series a bad name. Not for no good reason either. The game was rushed for a ps2 launch title window. It kinda feels like it too. Nothing major, but it's just the 'vibe' of the game that gives it this feeling. The graphics leave a lot to be desired. They really don't look all that great, the background are nice. The art portraits are amazing, I love Diago Ikeno's art. The models themselves are rough though. Plus the alt colors are pretty ugly for some of the characters. Gameplay is a tag 2v2 fighter. I like it, and it adds to the game uniqueness. The arcade mode and how it's done is fun, tagging in and out is fun to do. Makes it so they're are a lot of combinations and combos to make up. They're are other ... I love the EX series. They're are other males like vs and I can't remember the other one honestly. But this is where the game shines, lots of different stuff to try out and it's one of the games best feature. The next big thing the game has is the character creator. There is a character named ace who is a blank slate. In the character mode you do different trials so you can get XP to buy moves. The trials are really fun, at first I was sad that combo trials that were in ex 1 and 2 didn't make a return. But these spiritual successor of them is a lot of fun. While some require certain moves, a lot of them are done by doing using whatever combo of moves you want. It adds a lot of puzzle solving and figuring things out to do it, but it's fun. Mixing moves in general is a fun concept. The character creator will be the thing that keeps me coming back. Overall I think this game is a good buy. While I'd rather say buy the first to ex games. This game isn't the instant pass up, stale, and garbage game people say it is. It's still fun with great new gameplay and features.

EX3 is an underrated, overlooked street fighter title.
this is the best of the street fighter EX series. Game is a early taste of what you'd get from 3D style street fighter gameplay long before street fighter 4 existed. Its not quite as good as that or the 2D fighters from its era when it came out but its still a pretty solid fighting game.
