  • Nice little camera when new

This is my third canon elph camera. I got this one on ebay to use as a spare that I can carry in my pocket. The images on this particular camera are a bit blurred, but that has not been my experience on other Canon Elphs I have used, so I'm thinking the viewfinder is just getting worn out. this is a nice little feature packed unit that is convenient to take with you most anywhere you go. I would recommend buying new instead of used to avoid poor image quality.

  • Canon IXUS 100IS/ SD-780 12.1MP

Great little camera. I had this same model 5 years ago until I switched to Lumix (which are all now made NOT in Japan) and the quality and operation is superb. With 12MP, every a picture can easily be enlarged to at least the size of my 23 inch diagonal monitor. And has lot's of features. Optics are fantastic. It has a VIEWFINDER! Only issues, which may not be issues at all, are lack of exposure bracketing and the lens at F3.2 is a bit slow (my older Japanese Lumix's have bracketing and F2.8 lenses). Still, the Canon is much quieter when the lens extends or retracts, a problem with a Lumix has often been failure of the gears which are a bit noisier (honestly, I've owned 14 in the past, bought used, 4 had an issue, 1 complete failure, even though it would still take pictures, I still have 4). I just love the little Canon.

  • Great Buy!

I purchase a used Canon SD780IS camera hoping for a gently used unit and was very please to receive a nearly pristine camera that takes excellent pictures and so far has had no issues. It is small and easy to carry along any time for quick candid shots. I do video and this allows me to use a seperate camera instead of intermixing video and still shooting.

  • impressive for the size

CANON sd780is: the hd video is very nice, colorful, sharp, that's the reason i got it. pictures are crisp too. the menu is hard to use because it's small so one has to get used to that. the battery, which in my case is used, holds a good charge for what i need it, and it recharges in 2-3 hours, so no complains there. i have to say this though, mine has a defect, 4 bright dots in the image not just the screen, whether they're stuck or dead i dont know.

  • Compact with great features and quality

Good things do come in small packages and this is a perfect example: easy to use, excellent image quality and more-than-enough features without being impossible to figure them out. I highly recommend this little camera for general purpose use and the photos that are of better-than-average quality for ebay use!!

  • Ok but issues...

Like many cameras of this type, the leaves (lens cover) will not fully open or close. You have to help it to do so. Very very annoying. Otherwise a good camera.

  • replacement product

When our canon camera finally needed replacing, we bought the exact same model because it was easy to use, worked really well, and we didn't have to relearn a whole new camera.
