The pop up Compact Flash works automatically to highlight dark images without producing red eye issues. Separate color modes mean that creativity is encouraged. This camera offers a maximum shutter speed of 1/2000 of a second with a focal length of 24 to 120 mm. This can help you take better action shots in a variety of conditions. The 10.3 megapixel CCD of this Sony DSC-R1 can capture enough detail to produce 18 x 24 inch prints that are stunning. It has a 5X optical zoom and 2 inch vari-angle LCD display. The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-R1 camera has three color modes and RAW capture. It can record images onto Memory Stick PRO and Compact Flash Type I/II media and is powered by one NP-FM50 InfoLithium battery. Cannot rave enough about these cameras. The Zeiss lens says it all.
I have owned many of these cameras over the years. Every so often, I decide to buy a new camera, maybe one with twice the resolution and pixel count as the R1 try them for a little while, and end up coming back to ebay for another R1. Old but as good as new
This camera was 1st on the market in 2004. Now it's 2015 and it's like a good wine. Better with age. It was ahead of it's time with an APSc sensor . The dials are laid out well and easy to use in a fast paced situation. The files can be saved as Raw files and or raw +jpge.
