Good battery from a great brand.
EGO, in general is a well-made and performance-driven product. It matches, and can even exceed, the performance and pwer of most gas and electric-powered products. This battery was a much-needed addition to my set, I had the original 2.5Ah battery. We used the new battery and ran the trimmer continuously for over an hour without needing to recharge, as we did before. In fact, it still has enough charge for another round, I believe. It did not heat up in the Summer sun, as its predessor, and charged quieter, as well. My only comment for improvement is that it is a little heavier than expected. My 15-year-old daughter typically trims the edges in our lawn, and the weight can probably be improved to match up to what a gas-powered trimmer would weigh. Just a little heavier when using my pole chainsaw.
This battery lasts twice as long or more than my 2.5a . I use the same charger for both. It my take a little longer to charge. I have three batteries and the slow charge might prolong the 5A batt.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Perfect balance between power and weight
My EGO trimmer works great for clearing weeds from the large flat and sloped areas on my property. It is powerful and beats ALL the gas trimmers I had before it. My only complaint is that the 2.5AH batteries run out of juice before I do (about 30 minutes of continuous moderate to heavy trimming). I was constantly swapping out fresh and drained batteries from chargers I strategically placed around my property. Enter the 5.0AH battery which solves all of this. It has plenty of power to get though a reasonable amount of work and quits about the time I was ready for an iced tea anyway. Heavier, yes, but balanced properly in the hands, it is a worthwhile tradeoff. Perfect if you have a larger yard or thick weeds to clear.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Quality battery, long life
Bought this in Feb. 2020 so waited until I've used it a few times to review. The battery seems to deliver good power in the mower. I've used it multiple times to mow our 5000 sq ft lawn. It's made quick work of spring's too-tall, fast growing lawn on several occasions. It holds plenty of charge to cut even thick, tall grass. I'm happy with this battery. I got it as a back-up, but now thinking I wouldn't have had to get it. Still, happy to have an extra. Definitely recommend. The date on the battery I received says April 2018. The battery that came with the Ego mower we bought (Nov. 2019) is dated Feb. 2019. I have no idea what the dates mean. Buy it now EGO 5 amp battery
I needed an EGO battery for my EGO lawn mower as the one that came with the mower quit working. By the way, this was all used equipment when I got it. The old battery was a 4 amp. I got this 5 amp as a buy it now for about the same price as bidding on one and then not winning out on the last second bids. I am pleased so far with the battery.
