The locking mechanism does not work in keeping the blade either closed or in the open position. Locking mechanism looks cheaply constructed. Very, very disappointed! After reading all of the great reviews I was expecting a good valued saw that would actually work. A bushcrafting classic. After having had both the Bahco Laplander and a Silky BigBoy, I prefer the Bahco for Australian timber. The Laplander feels better in the hand, cuts on both push and pull, and doesn't have the problem with the placement of the locking mechanism.
