Awesome Tripod For a Standard DSLR!
This is a great tripod if you're a starting photographer. I was really impressed with the quality of it. Its about 2-3lbs, feels well built, and has good quality latches. It comes with a quick screw that allows you to easily detach the camera from the tripod. It comes with a small wheel built in the handle that allows you to tighten and release the grip of the camera to hold it in place. What I did not like about this tripod is that it advertises a mode that allows you to get good panoramic shots, but the function is useless as the handle still moves in any direction. Pretty good but not great
I’m gonna start off here with a positive. It’s got a very nice trigger grew up with a tiny we all that’s easily accessed when your hole in the true grip. The quick release works really well and I do you to go straight from iPad to hang out with i’m gonna start off here with a positive. It’s got a very nice trigger grip with a tiny wheel that’s easily accessed when your hole in the true grip. The quick release works really well and as you to go straight from tripod to handheld very quickly. The downside here is the design of the legs. The positive is that the lock into an angle that makes it feel good when you set up. The downside is that the legs have a Lotta flex and bow in them which does not feel very stable or strong when setting up the tripod. The shorter you extend the legs the more stable and firm the tripod will stand. The longer you extend the legs the more flex and bow you will see which sometimes can make it hard to set up the tripod perfectly level which can be frustrating. The pros definitely outweigh the cons with this tripod but not by much. My Vivitar tripod has a center pool with three arms that hold the legs firmly in place when fully extended. This makes the Vivitar tripod feel very stable and solid and firm wherever you put it. The Manfroto trigger grip tripod does not have any type of center arm that holds the legs and prevents them from bowing out. I do think that the trigger grip along with the tightening wheel and the quick release and the swivel ball that allows this tripod to move around in every direction is the saving grace for this tripod. I will say that overall is better than I’ve ever charge her iPad because it doesn’t look like it has any pieces that can break very easily. My Vivitar tripod want to pull over in the wind and the quick release lever broke. The way the camera attachment screw is placed onto the Vivitar tripod is also very flimsy and difficult to deal with because parts fall off and get lost ultimately making it a pain in the ass chore to connect a camera. The camera screw on the Manfroto tripod is very solid and have them in place very tightly making it easy to attach and detach cameras and the quick release lever does not seem like it will break even if the tripod falls over. Even though the legs do bow quite a bit I feel like the stance and how wide the legs go out is going to ultimately work in favor of the tripod. Legs go out so wide that I think it’s going to make a pretty solid base preventing it from falling over in the wind. Standard Fit
The "Button" like mount used to attach camera to tripod is unique and yet works. I like it because of its button size and shape but I dislike it for the same reason. When changing from slider to monopod to another tripod and back to the manfrotto, I have to remove the button and attach a plate. In doing so it is highly possible to loose the button due to its small size. I see why it was on clearance. This is a great entry level tripod for the single tripod user or as an emergency backup. The best thing about it is the fact that I don't have to remove the button to change my camera battery and of course the light weight and small size.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Tall, lightweight, some trade-offs
Overall I like this tripod for it's intended purpose. Compact enough to pack on a motorcycle and tall enough for a 6'-1" person to use comfortably without stooping. The trade-offs: The lower leg sections are quite thin, because of the height, so they are not totally rigid. I could do without the pistol grip handle. It's too big, but I like the locking mechanism. The head is really not smooth enough for panning with video, but it's better than free handing. The weakest point of the tripod is the mounting "button". It's just too easy to lose and you aren't going to want to leave it on the camera either because it gets in the way. Replacements are around $13.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Pretty good
This is a great tripod on all accounts except that I feel the camera sits leaning ever so slightly to the right every time I lock it in place. I've used another model of Manfrotto tripod and it did the same thing. I either have to rotate final images or sort of forcefully hold to the left as I lock it in place. After doing a good deal of research
I needed a travel tripod, but didn't want to spend a lot of money. After doing a good deal of research on compact tripods in my price range I settled on the Manfrotto. So far it has met my expectations. Pros: Compact and light Ball head Innovative pistol grip with quick lock Designed for both still and video cameras Manfrotto quality Says it's designed for entry-level DSLRs. Buy the name brand.
This does not fit the MKCOMPACTACN-BK like they say it does. I have to leave it partly unscrewed in order to close the clasp to hold the camera in place. doesn't fit with Manfrotto

Nice lightweight easy to set up tripod
