If youre a Lee Mack fan, you'll love this!!
I actually bought this set because it showed Miranda Hart on the cover (Im a massive MH fan!) Lee Mack is so great at playing Lee Mack!! I regularly watch WILTY and his prospensity to monopolise the show with his tirades made me rather wary (but Miranda won out). But I was rather pleasantly surprised. He plays a non-achiever squatting in his best friends (Tim Vine) flat with his best friends ex-girlfriend (strictly platonic but with a frisson of sexual tension). Lee plays the role well.. his character is far more subdued than the Lee we've grown to love/dismiss. Its a good show (it must be, it ran for 7 series!!) Give it a burl... Im enjoying it!! Very lightweight entertainment
It is not a bad comedy series but I have found it not overly comedic either. I first watched some episodes on TV which I found really funny and when this box set arrived I started at series one which I discovered were very different to the ones I had watched on TV. Some of these earlier characters just aren't funny like the Miranda Hart cleaning woman. It is overdone and while you suspend reality when watching comedies (or most things) you don't quite suspend them that much with a cleaner breaking everything and not really having a rhyme or reason to be in the episode other than they are a known figure in the comedy world. I haven't watched all of the episodes yet so I am hoping to come across the episodes I watched on TV and which were funny. Nonetheless, it is entertaining if a bit stupid from time to time.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
