Does the job
The flexibility of steaming two layers of vegetables at once saves time, electricity and is a healthy way of getting your required quota of daily vegies. This steamer is made of lightweight but sturdy enough plastic with handles on the side for ease of handling. The three main components are 1) a fairly shallow tray for the water, 2) a perforated trays for holding the vegetables and 3) a second tray for holding more vegetables to other items such as fish. These three layers do fit into each other, but not very securely. The holes themselves are rather large for some items, e.g. peas, which fall through them. However, overall the steamer performs as advertised and is a useful addition to dinner preparation.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Hopeless Design
The steamer baskets do not sit firmly onto the base and when you remove from the microwave water and steam go everywhere. After this happened to me twice, I consigned the whole thing to the recycle bin. A complete waste of money. Had it been constructed properly, with the steamer basket actually fitting on the base properly, it possibly would have been good, but as it is it is quite useless and even dangerous.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
