A Real Workhorse
We have used these printers for years for our small business. The toner is cheap and they are bullet proof. Reliable, inexpensive aftermarket toner cartridges
This is my 2nd Brother printer of this series. My original has about 12,000 pages and still going strong, but the seller caught my eye by showing his had only 900 pages, $215 and free shipping. I couldn't pass it up. I only print text and small color diagrams that I use outdoors. I like laser for this because the ink doesn't smudge if it gets wet. I don't print big photos because experts claim this printer isn't great for that. I tried refilling cartridges from bottles of toner with mixed results. EZink sells a set of five TN225 toner cartridges for $40 with free shipping on eBay. I've nevar had a bad one. The machine counts pages and doesn't automatically reset to zero when replacing a cartridge. The secret reset menue is available by turning the printer on, raise the toner door, then press the asterisk button for six seconds. I reset all cartridges to zero and replace them when print quality deteriorates. That's because the machine declares a cartridge low several hundred pages before it actually begins to skip or streak. The machine allows me to print, scan and copy to the PC or use the Brother control center app to do that from the PC. --Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Not working like they said
It will not print in Color at all even with putting brand new cartridges in it - it took me 2 hours to clean all the dirt and dust out of it and it still does not print a small plastic piece fell out of it when we opened it up after taking it out of the box, have to call a repair person to try to fix it at a minimum charge of $200 so would have been cheaper to buy a whole new upgraded machine!Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
