Even better than the first time I saw it!!!!
I remember when I first saw this movie back when it first appeared on VHS in late 1986. I loved the story, the actors, and the music on display in this movie. This is probably near the time period when musical movies were starting to peak. Since I'd heard of (but never saw) the Roger Corman-helmed original, I figured this bigger-budgeted version was a good place to start. Having Levi Stubbs (of the Four Tops) voice Audrey II was a particularly inspired choice, as were Tisha Campbell, Tischina Arnold, and Michele Weeks as a "Supremes/Dreamgirls"-inspired trio. I didn't realize who they were back in in 1986, as this was before Campbell & Arnold would later be cast in other movies and sitcoms in following years. Going back to see this movie was like revisiting old friends and family members & seeing something wonderful that I didn't notice the first time around. In fact, all the actors were great in their roles and there was a mix of comedy, drama, pathos, and horror to go with the musical numbers. Even though the summary on the back of my DVD copy was in Korean, that did not diminish my enjoyment of the movie one bit. As I very seldom/almost never look at the DVD extras, I enjoyed being able to go straight into the movie and rediscover why I'd always enjoyed it so much. I've read that there will possible be a possible remake/reboot of "Little Shop Of Horrors" for the 21st century. Whether this turns out true or not, I'm sure it won't be able to top this mid-80s classic.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
