2013 Mac Pro - an excellent Desktop System

Item was actually in what I would describe as excellent physical condition upon receipt. I had difficulty upgrading internal drive from High Sierra to Mojave. The Apple SSD simply would not take the upgrade, although it went through the entire process twice without upgrading. When I looked at the drive using terminal - it showed nearly 20 different disk designations! Erasing did not resolve multiple disk issue. Fortunately a drive RESET using Parted Magic solved the problem and the drive upgraded to Mojave on the next attempt. I then installed the new 1TB drive I had purchased, restored from Time Machine, and it has been smooth sailing ever since! I admit, my computer usage doesn't require a Mac Pro. However, in seeking a Desktop upgrade that essentially matches current system performance yet is still fully upgradeable - this 2013 Mac Pro is both a reasonable price and performance competitor!

    It’s powerful, and ugly

With all my cables plugged into this thing, it is literally an eyesore. Need to find a way to hide it in my studio. Works well with logic, which sees 12 rather than 6 cores (uses virtual tech for that trick.) also, thunderbolt is superior to FireWire for UAD connections. My main fear is when will Apple stop supporting it with an OS X update? only apple knows.

  • Fast and compact Mac

Very nice computer, almost perfect condition. This computer boots up faster than any other I have seen. Best mac I have ever had and it's my sixth one in almost 25 years of mac use. Quieter than an iMac. You'd have to put your ear to it to tell that it's on. The keyboard had some shipping damage but it all works fine.

  • Amazing 3 year old tech.

Plenty of power, amazing multicore performance, and dead silent under heavy load. I wouldn't pay retail since it's 3 year old tech, but if you can get a good buy, you'll definitely be happy with the purchase. Drives 3 x 27" monitors effortlessly, and added ThunderBay 4 external thunderbolt 2 four bay enclosure performs excellent and at Mac speeds even with 4 drive RAID 0. All concerns with this new design were quickly put to rest.

  • Best personal computer ever built bar none.

The design allows for the air to flow evenly and quietly. The simplicity gets thing organized. The raw speed leaves no lag. The processing power allows absorption of all application. No hang up. No delay. Simplicity, speed and power. All good.

  • Good Performance, beautiful cylinder

Great deal as this new out of the box macpro 6,1 and easily updated to the latest version 12.5 with the firmware also being automatically applied. It was also well equipped with 32 gb ram and a 512 GB SSD. Works great and very satisfied.

The product works well. No complaints. There was a strong scratch on the case, which is not shown in the photo. It took a long time for the goods to reach me. Two weeks late. Otherwise everything is fine.

  • Great value for this machine to have both OS in one machine.

2013 Mac Pro is well designed and easy to setup and use. Even though the Mac Pro is 11 years old, my purchase for this machine is not just use for Mac OS system but also I can boot camp to set up for Windows 10. The new Mac has M chips which will not allow for boot camp. So far I am happy with both OS working perfectly. And the reason I purchased this machine is because it is the last Mac to have a intel chip to setup both Mac and Windows OS.

  • Definitely worth the money.

Buying this computer used is definitely he way to go. It's a powerhouse for what I plan on using it for and should last years. I run Catina and Solid Works engineering design programs as well as photoshop. I had to install Parallels to run windows for the engineering programs. I wish they mad Mac versions but that's another story. There's also room to expand to a 12 core processor and 64 GB or ram if need be.

  • Powerfull, FAST computer!

Been a MAC person since Apple1. Love its compact size and speed. Why buy 'Windows compatible' every few years when you can buy a MAC and be good for twice or 3 times longer!
