'How to Cook Everything' a great book to have.

I bought this book, 'How to Cook Everything The basics' for my Grandson who just graduated from college. He once made the comment about cooking ramen noodles 10 different ways, I thought this would be a good introduction to better cooking. I looked it over, boy, do I wish I had a cook book like this when I first got married!! I intend to get another for my Granddaughter when she graduates college this December.

    Great for new cooks

This book is for people who are very new to cooking. It contains many good pictures and it seems to focus on technique rather than packing in recipes. Just be aware that it really does focus on "the basics" and recipes with minimal ingredients. More advanced home cooks might be disappointed and be better off purchasing "How to Cook Everything" than this one.

Author Mark Bittman is an excellent writer. Not cutesy like so many of today's celebrity chefs. Very down to earth.
