I bought this for backpacking as a lightweight way to keep my head warm while sleeping. The hat weighs 1.3 ounces and kept my head nice and warm while sleeping at night when the temperature dropped to the low fifties. The hat is comfortable and also deep enough that I was able to pull it down almost to my eye level while it also fully covered my ears and a bit of my neck.
