    Impressive

    Should be watched by all. Regrettably behavior of german forces in both world wars are judged on behaviour of sections of the army and in ww2 by the SS. Most exminations seem to indicate that the Luftwaffe and navy were far more likely to "play by the rules" Notable exceptions to the army behaviour are Rommel and Gudarian.

    Gripping story with just a hint of sentimentality. Authentic and convincing with just a few blemishes (why does the sub lose it's deck cannon in some shots?). A good film about fighting men without mentioning the war or the Nazis.
