The Canon EOS-1D X DSLR is a powerful camera that can handle both high-resolution and high-speed photography. Built to last in rough conditions, this camera has an 18.1-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor. It will capture detailed high-resolution images like landscapes with precision and clarity. The autofocus system with 61 AF points allows you to easily focus on the right image area. You can go up to 14 frames per second (fps) to take pictures of high-speed activities like sports with great accuracy. The EOS-1D X will also shoot HD video. The CMOS sensor in the Canon EOS-1D X is full frame with gapless microlenses, which will help gather a greater quantity of light to ensure more details in the images you're shooting. The ISO range in this Canon device is from 100 to 51,200, which can be expanded to ISO 204,800. With these wide ISO options, you'll be able to control the noise or grainy quality in your images. The re-designed photodiode construction promotes less signal-to-noise ratio at higher ISO settings to resolve any graininess issues. By using advanced algorithms, the high-end Dual Digic 5+ image processors also play a role in cleaning up grainy pictures. The Canon EOS-1D X has an advanced 61-point AF system for auto-focus. With 41 cross-type points, you can setup the focus point by point. The camera will then use those points to better track the focal interest across images automatically. Also, the RGB exposure metering sensors monitor color and light in rapidly changing conditions. This process allows the camera to control shutter speed and lens aperture for optimum light entry into the device. Too much or too little light can ruin your image. Another nice 1 series Canon
I bought this as a reasonable cost addition to my 1DX II for shooting sports with two cameras. Controls are nearly identical to the Mark II so it is easy to go between the two bodies during fast evolving action. Typically the 1DX has a 70-200 F2.8 mounted with a 300 or 400 2.8 on the Mark II. Once you get used to shooting with the 1 series bodies they have a beautifully balanced feel with large lens and I have stuck with this line since my first 1D Mark II purchase in 2005. awesome camera with great features
This camera is suited for those photographers that demand a lot out of their equipment. That's the reason why you see a lot of the Canon "1-Series" along the sidelines of major sporting events. Yes, it is pricey... But you get what you pay for. As a contracted sports photographer, I need my gear to function all the time no matter what. This is where the "1-Series" shine. It's robust and gives great images and is practically indestructible. Are there other bodies that can do the same? Probably. The wait was worth it.
I wasn’t sure for a while that I really wanted to upgrade to a 1D-X. I already had a 1D Mark III and Mark IV. I wasn’t happy, though, with their low light performance. The 1DX definitely addressed that. I’ve taken trialphotos at ISO 50600that are better than ISO 3200 on either of ge other cameras without a doubt. Sharp and clear. "Emerging Photographer's Dream"
I am not a professional Photographer. I bought my first DSLR only two years ago, because I wanted crisper photos of family vacations. Since then I have spent countless hours educating myself watching tutorials and researching equipment. The EOS 1DX showed up on my radar about a year ago, but i could not justify the price against my budding skills. Just recently, however, I decide to take the plunge and, boy, I am glad I did! This camera has fantastic low light capabilities. I used my 1DX this past Christmas to take wonderful candids of my first grandchild without using flash, sometimes bumping the ISO to 10,000. I could not believe my eyes when I download the images to my computer, there was virtually no noise, the photos were crisp and clear. I also love the burst rate this camera is capable of, 14 fps. I left my settings on multiple shots throughout the holidays, so that I would miss a shot because eyes were closed, or mouths were in awkward positions, or hands were flailing. Top of the line Canon 1DX still has plenty of mojo
Despite the EOS-1DX is nearly 4 years old since its release, this flagship model still impresses the heck out of me. It's refined in every respect and still sets the standard for low light (high ISO), low noise, high IQ photos. It's AF image acquisition is so much faster and accurate than my 5D Mark III. It's a great addition to my gear bag, particularly for wildlife and action photography.
