About this product

Product Information

The Nikon Speedlight SB-910 AF Flash, which replaced the SB-900 series, gives you professional-level illumination control if you do a lot of flash photography in a studio or outside in low-light conditions. This type of device uses Nikon's i-TTL light metering, known as "intelligent Through-The-Lens," and operates with wireless channels or with a remote. It attaches to digital single-reflex cameras via the hot shoe on the top of the camera. These flashes have an 8-11mm lens range in DX format and a wide zoom range of 17-200mm in FX format depending on which lens and camera you use. A wide-angle adapter is included. Weighing only 14.8 ounces, this accessory can be carried in a soft case. The Nikon SB-910 can be automated easily and remotely. By connecting the SB-910 to other Speedlights wirelessly, you can use it as the master controller system for up to three sets of other remotely positioned Speedlights. The master Speedlight will then share critical exposure information with the other flash units in the network, allowing you to get accurate computations in a variety of lighting situations. The Nikon SB-910 has an intuitive user interface, letting you focus on getting the perfect flash under any conditions. Use the auto or manual mode when using various ISO settings on your camera. When taking bursts of photos, an improved thermal cut ensures that the flash tube won't overheat, extending the life of the product. These powerful tools make this product an excellent choice for photography enthusiasts. This Speedlight comes with both fluorescent and incandescent filters as well as mode adjustments for special photo needs. There is a setting for an automatic white balance function to fit the filter being used. It has a good maximum output with a guide number of 34 at the 35mm reflector setting. The flash head can rotate up to 180 degrees to the left with click stops every 30 degrees, giving you near universal flash coverage. This Nikon product undergoes automatic firmware updates and can reset itself to Nikon-recommended factory settings at will. To power the Nikon SB-910, you can use four sodium, lithium, or alkaline AA batteries. Battery recycling time is 2.3 seconds for NiMH, i-TTL, and all other flash modes. These flashes are compatible with many Nikon SLR cameras, including the Nikon D810 and most cameras in the D, DL, and Coolpix series. It also works with a wide variety of Nikon lenses and accessories, so you can always have the tools you need for the shots you want. Various color filters are available to complement the auto features on this product. It also works with a variety of remote cords, allowing you to trigger these flashes with the press of a button. Water guards help to protect this product from moisture, which enables you to use it in many outdoor settings that would otherwise be impossible. A battery pack is available to increase the duration of the power supply and greatly reduce recycle times. The SD-9 battery pack can keep you out in the field much longer than a handful of smaller batteries could. A user manual is available for advice on different situations and flash applications.

  • Top of the line Nikon attachable flash; does anything I might ever want

Beautifully made, powerful articulated flash unit that can go on the top of the camera or a lighting stand or on the table top, with an included shoe. If detached from the camera, it needs a wired or wireless connection to it. It comes with a variety of diffusers and color changers and a nice soft case. The SB-910 can be used in a variety of modes. If in manual mode, the output can be adjusted to a wide range of values. It can be made part of a network of compatible flash units. It runs on four AA batteries and a single set lasts for quite a few flashes. If you need a flash for your Nikon, you can't do better than this.

  • The best flash available in my opinion.

In my opinion, which doesn't count for much, Nikon produces a far better product and this Flash, the SB 910, albeit an older model flash, can hold it's own within the realm of all flashes. It packs a punch in power, fast recycle rate and a decent range of features to boot. I've been using a SB 910 for about 6 years while I was working as a Crime Scene Investigator. I retired recently and decided to purchase my own equipment. The SB 910 was the only flash I considered for the job. Extremely satisfied with my purchase.

  • Excellent product with features that are no longer available on the SB-500 replacement.

Great light works perfectly for professional portraits in all lighting conditions. Great as a fill light as the ev compensation buttons are right on the flash for easy adjustment. This is no longer available on the replacement sb-500 model. Much quicker to adjust on the flash then to go through camera menus during a shoot. Solidly built and uses 4 AA batteries (new 500 flash only uses 2, which make me wonder about power output when needed as well as recycle times and how long it will last before you have to change batteries). Wish Nikon would keep this model as active inventory. There are too many older camera models out there that might not have the menus needed to drive the new flash. I don't think you should be forced to buy a D-5 or D500 to use current line of accessories.

  • Works well with my Nikon 600 camera

I have two of these flash units and although expensive they are worth the money. They have a high power output and the flash on my 600 camera can control both 910 flash units independently. Battery life is good and the unit recharges very quickly. The dispay on the back of the flash is poor and not easy to use.

  • Powerful and versatile flash

Super powerful flash with nice features to work with my Nikon camera. It does everything that a photographer could want. This one is in excellent condition and it was packed well. I'm very happy

  • great performance

This was a replacement for a Nikon flash that had been stolen. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the flash performed. If anything should happen to this one, I would buy another one again. The cost was easy on my budget too. It was far less costly than my Nikon SB-800 and seems to work as well.

  • The SB900 takes great pictures even if I don't

Well, gee. This is a Nikon speedlight that works smashingly. I have an SB800 I bought years ago. This is more powerful, and worked like a champ right out of the (used) box. This flash and my camera are communicating nicely. Nikkor zoom lens; lots of talk, continuously.

  • Powerful and easy to use

Excellent flash unit, in a portable package. Very powerful and responsive. Easy to switch from high to low power, as needed. Can be used as commander too. I love the carry pouch and really enjoy the included accessories (incandescent and fluorescent filter, stand, and diffusion dome). I purchased the color filter holder and color filter set too. I love it! Best flash I ever used!

  • Great Flash

I found my Nikon SB-800 worked on my Nikon D610, but all the reviews said the Nikon SB-910 would work better in several ways. I tested the Nikon for around 100 shots of different sorts and found that it is true; it does work better than the SB-800. I am still learning how to fully use this flash; I doubt that I will ever learn everything about it. Great flash.

  • My go to speed light

I already have one just needed a 2nd unit for more creative adventures. The web is chalk full of tutorials on how to use the Nikon SB-910.
