    Best console I ever bought

I was looking to get a new game machine since I had been playing with Sega Genesis since 1993. I didn't want to spend a ton of money on a PlayStation 4 or an Xbox One so I found that PS2 was the top of the line about 10 years ago so I decided that I would give it a try. I went with the fat one because I just had to go for the retro early 2000s charm and also I heard that the slim model is trash. Anyway, the product arrived quickly enough, it was as easy to set up as Sega Genesis was and it plays amazing games. I do not regret this purchase and think that it is great value for the price.

    Cant complain too much

They sent the wrong power cord, no biggie since I have a ton of the right ones. The face plate was cockeyed and the face plate of the disk drive was completely off, nothing some super glue didn't fix. All in all, not bad for a PS2 from 2005.

  • A truly remarkable system

The PS2 is a great value in 2017. For just $30-$50 you have yourself a gaming machine that not only plays the entire library of PS2 games which in itself is thosuands of games, but you also have access to all of the PS1 games that came before it thanks to the backwards compatibility. The PS2 also plays CD and DVD as well so it functions as a reliable media player in addition to being a gaming console. While Sony may have stopped manufacturing the console years ago, there's no denying that it's just as fun today as it was 17 years ago when it launched. This can be attributed to the fact that the PS2 had some of the greatest titles of any console. Games like Shadow of the Colossus, Persona, Kingdom hearts, God of War, Sly Cooper, Gran turismo, among many others. Some of my best gaming memories came from the PS2. It certainly is a remarkable system. And for the cheap price you can pick one up nowadays it's a sin not get one.

  • Older System, and Happy with it....love it

This is the thing, If you didnt grow up with a old system, you wont really enjoy it due to the quality of the graphics compared to the new systems, and the ultra definition tv's. This being said, I really like my Playstation 2, the reason is that I still have an older PS2 that I have been trying to get fixed, and having trouble finding someone to fix it. I took the plunge and chanced on getting another used system, which works well, it is not new, but used, BUT I dont care about that as long as it works...IT WORKS...The games that came with it, works, and am Happy with this system, was able to find a set of wireless paddles to work with this, and am extremely happy, that I got the ability to play my old games which I am very fond of it.....simple games but fun.....The reason I dont recommend it for someone else, these systems are at a good price, but if other people get them, the price goes up, like the old NES systems......Love it,

  • Not very good with titles

Was exactly as described, works like a charm! I have a parts PS2 I thought I would need, just in case, and just used the foot from that to replace the missing one. The controller, like I think every PS2 controller, has a drift problem. Not a surprise, easy fix. I am very satisfied with this purchase. I can finally relive some memories.

  • The Most Well-Rounded Overall Best Console

The PS2 has a lot of value for a nearly 20 year old platform. It can play PS1 games, CDs, and DVDs. It's compatible with almost every PS1 accessory which includes the controllers, but the Dualshock 2 can be used for all games anyway. It looks great on an HDTV if you connect with Component or RGB cables, but in most cases the standard A/V output should look decent, just might be letterboxed depending on the game. There is an option to output optical audio through a soundbar or home theater system, which is something overlooked --especially for an old console --but it makes a big difference and sounds great when playing compatible games. The Dualshock 2 is mostly the same in design as the first, but it is has pressure-sensitive buttons which feels very natural -- even better than the Dualshock 3. The game library has the most variety compared to that of any other platform before or after the PS2 , and definitely seems to have the most games period. Since the game library is massive, there's a lot of worthless, awful titles but if you owned every good game you would be busy playing and replaying them for years. I would say there's about a dozen high quality games for every genre and, in my opinion, the golden age of horror games reigned during the PS2 era. Wether you are revisiting early 2000s nostalgia or never experienced it I would highly recommend checking it out. Thanks for reading!

  • Works Great!

The product arrived packaged so no damage wouldn't happen. It came with everything stated with no damage to them what so ever. It was very dusty inside thats why I gave it 4 stars plus its still too early to tell. only had it for a week.

  • great little system for collectors

This PlayStation 2 is great have had no problems with the disc tray when i first got it the tray stuttered a little but when i kept opening it and closing it loosened up, I think this has not ben turned on for at least 10 years so the disc tray could have stayed shut for a long time and that caused the stuttering problem and also i included a few photos of it sorry for the bad picture i was using my Nintendo DSi in the dark but i am happy to report this thing is great for any retro gamer/PlayStation fan PS i included that red screen of death photo to show the fact it reads discs

  • my playstation

The playstation 2 that I bought works good. The cord where it goes into the controller is loose so I have to try to fix it. All I need now is a memory card. Thank you

  • Great deal on a PS2 for a retro collector

A friend gave me a ton of old PS2 games and controllers because he knows I collect Retro video games. (Sega Genesis, etc) While the PS2 rarely gets used because I have a PS4 now - certain games like Harry potter and the order of the Phoenix and Iron Man are pretty cool. Mostly using it for Guitar Hero gatherings. The graphics in games have come so far that it kills some of the enjoyment - but it was a bargain and now part of my collection.
