This lens uses two special low dispersion glass elements that allow this Sigma camera lens for Nikon to magnify the image's subject by a factor of two at a 300 mm focal length without compromising image quality. Additionally, this Sigma camera lens for Nikon features a multi-layer lens coating and design that cuts down on flaring and ghost images, correcting one of the major problems that affect digital cameras. With a specialized design, the color balance is optimal throughout this Nikon Sigma lens's zoom range. While a telephoto lens like this Nikon Sigma is often used for wildlife photography, it can also be used to make an image's depth of field appear to be smaller, which makes the distance between nearer and farther objects appear to be smaller. Measuring only 4.8 inches and weighing 19.4 oz, this 70-300 mm f/4-5.6 lens is compact and very solidly constructed.
