In theory it should work but doesn't for our cat
Feliway was recommended to me by a cat behavior expert. We have an 18 month old male tabby which we purchased as an 8 week old kitten from an animal shelter. We keep our cats indoors with an outside "cat run". This cat has a very bold/confident personality and has taken to urinating during the night in a particular area of our dining room. Cleaning the area with Urine-off and spraying Feliway has had no effect on his behaviour despite their claims, and having tried this over several weeks. It is very expensive, and I am now looking at other options such as changing the landscape of the area and SSSCat. That said, we have had a number of cats over the years and this one is exceptionally bold/confident, so Feliway may be more effective with more sedate cat personalities.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Hasn't helped with over grooming issue unfortunately
We have a psycho cat who is intensely over grooming, we are trying every product known to science. Unfortunately for us, this spray didn't seem to make any difference. It may help a normal cat, but so far there is no behaviour difference we can see with ours. Maybe this spray is more for comfort on vets visit etc than actual ongoing anxiety. Partial Success!
I bought Feliway to stop my cat from scratching certain areas of my carpet - THAT seems to have worked. The second reason was so that I could use it to calm her and therefore tempt her into the cat carrier, for transportation - that has not worked, as yet. Brilliant product, Best used in conjunction with the diffuser.
Read the instructions and discuss carefully with your vet. Learn the best spots to spray it by paying attention to behaviour, very useful for stress related areas (like windows where the cat is looking out at night to wandering strays etc), pissing spots or whatever. Listen to your cat, they are very effective communicators once you work out what they are saying! I have found this works well in conjunction with the diffuser during the more stressful times (i.e. when the neighbourhood cats are out looking for love, or there is a possum etc). Happier cat

This works really well
This works really well on my jumpy 8yo rescue cat. I used the diffusers when she first arrived and they worked so I use the spray on items I want her to use.
