Hayao Miyazaki's CASTLE IN THE SKY is a rousing adventure that follows an orphan named Sheeta as she eludes the clutches of a secret agent named Muska while trying to discern her family's history. After her first escape from Muska, Sheeta meets up with a young boy named Pazu, whose father, a photographer, was disgraced after he took a picture of the legendary flying island of Laputa and had it dismissed as a hoax. Excellent entry level Anime, suitable for kids age five to adult
Fun and engaging Anime, suitable for ages five to adult. Enjoyable for kids of all ages (including me). Below are pro and con bullet points: Pro 1) Beautiful soundtrack scored by Joe Hisashi. 2) A mysterious princess from an island in the sky. 3) A floating island in the sky. 4) Lots of cool steampunk flying machines! 5) Sky Pirates!!!!!! 6) Normally I prefer the original Japanese dialogue in Anime, but this movie has an excellent English dub. I particularly liked Cloris Leachman as the pirate leader Dola. Con 1) The disc takes forever to boot up, and forces you to wade through previews. This is more a criticism of Disney blu-rays, than the movie itself. 2) No other criticism, just needed a second bullet point.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Regarding “Castle in the Sky” Disney version only. Positive: The movie, artwork and voice actors were top notch, Negative: Synthesizer music in the movie was awful considering the artist that wrote the score did such a good job.
