The Leica M Monochrom is an 18 MP digital camera black and white version of the famous M9 rangefinder camera. The Leica camera body does not employ color a filtering array for its built-in sensor, which means the 18 MP digital camera cannot discern color but it can capture a greater amount of available light. This means the Leica camera body does not have to integrate color into the pixilation scheme when capturing images, which gives the photograph a much higher level of detail. The Leica M Monochrom features a 2.5-inch LCD viewing screen as well as an optical viewfinder for photographers that are more traditional. The Leica camera body has external dimensions of 37 mm (1.5 inches) deep, 139 mm (5.5 inches) wide, and 80 mm (3.2 inches) tall, and weighs 600 g (21.2 oz) with the li-ion rechargeable battery pack installed. The Leica also features classic yet rugged construction of magnesium alloy coupled with synthetic leather trim and a brass base plate that gives the camera a rustic appeal.Product Identifiers
