The C214 professional large-diaphragm condenser microphone offers a supreme one-inch capsule on an integrated suspension to reduce mechanical noise. Recording of loud sources of up to 156dB SPL is not a problem thanks to the switchable 20dB attenuation pad. A bass-cut filter allows close-up recording with almost no proximity effect. Great value
Being the owner of a Neumann U-67, I am somewhat spoiled. I needed a quick replacement while the 67 went in for service and the price was right on the 214. As session singers on many albums, my partner and I always asked for 414’s on the dates because of the sparkle it gave our stacked harmonies. Ipad Go To Vocal Mic
I have been recording for 30+ years but recently read how people were recording on an ipad so I bought an ipad air 2 128gb and also bought an Apogee Duet. I decided on Auria Pro as recording app and it has not disappointed me. I found when recording vocals they had a phase or digital sound to them. I was using a Neumann TLM103 and also a BCM401 so I decided to buy the AKG C214 and was amazed at how well it did for vocals. Now when I record vocals it is with the C214. AKG has a great line of products, from entry level to pro. The trick is finding the right mic for the application. The C214 is a excellent choice and can be used in several instances where clarity and definition are critical. It’s application ranges from the subtleties of vocals and strings to the high decibel levels of brass and percussion. Amazing mic
This microphone is crystal clear. It gives my vocal a warm tone. I sing very loud at times, and it has a good dB SPL, so I set my preamp to zero, and I can sing as loud as I need to without distortion. It is a very good mic. I am extremely happy with my purchase. I love this microphone!
I have been recording with this mic for the last two weeks and so far I have nothing but great results, the flat response frequency is outstanding, the instruments sound like they are.
