I put off getting one of these until the backlight on my laptop failed. There are certain applications that run better on the early Macintosh although they probably weren't intended for the smaller screens of a PowerBook from those days. You'll also need an Apple to VGA adapter to use with a modern LCD. Once it's set up you may have to adjust or change some control panels (I had a problem with a Kensington trackball that needed Kensington's driver and control panel rather than the generic Apple ones). This adapter allows you to have a very compact system without the restriction of the small original display.
