Excellent Blu-ray burner
excellent Blu-ray burner, works well with the provided Power2Go software (also has 2 other backup software tools, that I'm not using, cannot rate). A Windows/PC unit, Mac owners beware,
If you have a PC, you will love this unit. It comes with 3 great programs for backup and recording for windows and the BluRay format. However, if you are a MAC person this is a good unit for CD/DVD and very limited BluRay recording. You will have to find a 3rd party program or try the Apple program for BluRay use. Even then there will be some difficulty with the unit due to the poor response to open and close( possible factory problem), On/Off switch difficult to function(again, possible factory problem). I was trying to update my 4 year old Samsung BluRay recorder to a faster model with the ad promise of burn software and quality engineering. Like I said, If I were a PC/Windows person, I would have nothing but praise for it. Going back to my old Samsung unit. I recently purchased this Blu-Ray writer off Ebay. The price was right. Included in the price was outdated Cyberlink software. I chose to purchase the latest Cyberlink, PowerDVD software. The software installation was a breeze. I attached the Blu-Ray burner to my PC. I popped in a Blu-Ray movie. I am happy with my purchase. ASUS 16x BR player/recorder
found the enclosed software useless, Make MKV works excellent, the player itself has several weaknesses.... It heats up/smells to the point I feel compelled to limit the amount of time I use it. The eject tab is next to unable to exit the disc... The on off switch is manual, works but would rather have something like a timed turnoff internal... or a startup based on opening which it cannot do.
