Almost Perfect and Happy With This Buy
This is almost perfect IF you have a 6 qt Instant Pot (most but not all are compatible), aren't making large batches of air-fried foods too often, and don't want another appliance taking up space. The lid itself is bulky, so if you use it daily and don't store it away each time, either this or the original pressure-seal lid will be taking up some counter space. The instructions are minimal, but once you get the hang of it, you can see why: It cooks/browns most things so quickly that you just need to keep an eye on things to know when they're done to your liking. This is very easy, as lifting the lid stops the cooking and replacing it over your Instqnt Pot starts it back where it left off. The control panel is as simple as they come: pick a function and adjust the time and temp up or down. You can change it as you go or just hit cancel and start over. The fry basket handles are a bit hard to grip in my silicone "mits," but thankfully the lid comes with a round pad so you can set it down, give your food a shake, and heat for a few more minutes as needed. I was a little disappointed at first that you have to fry pretty small quantities (an overlapping layer but not much more) to allow air circulation around food, but when each batch takes only a few minutes and preheating is all but instantaneous, this doesn't feel like a burden. I roasted a whole head of cauliflower in 3 batches in about the same time it would take on a large pan in my oven but didn't heat up the whole kitchen and used less than half the oil. This Instant Pot Air Fryer is a must for a regular and frequent cook. It really cuts the cooking time in half. However; the company should also include a silicone mat for the bottom of the pot, for easy clean up. Worth the Price
I was hesitant at first to buy another kitchen gadget, however the idea of air frying seemed like a healthy idea. I find it easy to use and it requires less storage space. Works good - easy to use but I do suggest maybe watching instructions on some of the you-tube videos before you start to use. The warnings on those videos are important to know. The Instant Pot Air Fryer lid works well to allow air frying when you've already bought an Instant Pot. Capacity with the included insert basket is small, but if you use two or three grates in the Instant Pot liner instead, capacity is better. Six inch round screens work well. Works as an air fryer, or roaster or baker. I have even toasted bread in it. French fries with only a bit of sprayed oil are possible and tasty without fat! GREAT alternative to deep frying, valuable accessory to 6 qt Instant Pot
Excellent accessory for 6 quart Instant Pot models with stainless steel pails. Easy to operate, required hardware included. Just load pail, sit unit on top of your IP, program and start. Highly recommend the use of oil and/or vegetable spray to aid in cleanup. Easy clean-up!
I have only used my Instant Pot as an air fryer once so far. I have a Breville convection oven air fryer combination and have used it a lot, but for smaller amounts of food or foods that might splatter a bit, this is sure a lot easier in the clean-up process. when kids and grandkids are over, I will still use the larger oven air fryer, but for the two of us, this will work most times.
