crazy nice

Why it didn't win the Oscar
I believe this particular product is a copy from the original.(a knock off). The sound track is of poor quality and there is overprinting of the subtitles. The whole movie is shot in extreme conditions of rain, snow and ice which makes it somewhat depressing. The lead character Hugh Glass (a factual mountain man/trapper) would never have survived the hardships concocted by the film makers. The film also strays a long way from the factual adventures of Glass with the addition of him having a child along on the brigade and killing his main detractor at the end of the movie. My preference is for "The Man in the Wilderness" made in 1971 which is closer to the facts..Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

best adventure drama ive seen in years
I enjoyed this movie very much, and I've bought the dvd so I can watch it again later. When a movie can get me so engrossed I can block out any external noise (including husband) I think its great. lol Leonardo Di Caprio deserved that Oscar for the winning performance he put in, he was so believable and the whole movie just drew you in.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
