Dressed to kill, with their Dynel tresses tossing in the breeze behind them, these three stars of New York's drag-queen beauty pageant circuit have hit the open road in a 1967 Cadillac convertible. Destination: Hollywood. But the trio is in for a detour when the car breaks down in the tiny midwestern town of Snydersville, where drag queens are about as common as August snowstorms. Up to now Snydersville has been a lot more like a graveyard than a town. That's all about to change. The local citizenry is going to get an infusion of flash and glamour the likes of which it's never seen. During the course of one incredible weekend, eyes will be opened, broken hearts healed, and hair teased within an inch of its life.

Everyone Has A Colourful Side
This is a genuine feel good movie and you can tell a lot of fun was had in the making of it. Much sashaying in heels and marvellous frocks. Much choosing to make current circumstances a bit more glamorous than they might otherwise have been. Much choosing to believe in self when there is trouble. Bonus cameo by Julie Newmar. Highly recommend.

Humorous but conveying a moral against prejudice
The three main characters are fantastic. They keep you waiting for their next lines as they are witty as well as being hilarious. Patrick Swayze does such a wonderful job of being Miss Vida Boheme that you lose his sex and only think of him as a Drag Queen. The other two do a very good job and Wesley Snipes as Noxeema Jackson is aisle rolling funny when running (tottering) after Clara and the comments utters as she tries to keep up. It is a film to listen carefully to, as well as enjoying the scenery and plot. I first watched this film on my VHS player back in 1997 and now I have bought the DVD in the hope to be able to watch it for many years to come.

Fun movie. What I would call the American version of "Pricilla Queen of the Desert"
