ARS Are Really Sharp. Best pruners

This is a second pair; they're for my wife. She kept taking my year-old pair that are STILL almost as sharp as these new ones. Very easy on my arthritic hands. Easily cuts branches within it's range.

    Don’t buy the product!

I used it only four times, I snipped a few twigs all under a quarter inch. When I finish I noticed the edge of the blade was serrated. They advertise how it can cut branches up to three quarters of an inch. Wanted a replacement blade or refund, but was told I couldn’t get one. It’s junk!!

  • Excellent blade, good ergonomics

I've been using the Falco rotating handle hand pruner for several years but was recommended the ARS version by my arborist. Have another (spring type) ARS hand pruner but don't use it much because the action seems very stiff for regular gardening (not tree/wood pruning) use. This version combines the excellent blade of the ARS line with a good ergonomic rotating handle (I think I prefer the felco rotating mechanism but the ARS blade quality is so much better than the Felco that it outweighs the better rotation/ergonomics of the Felco.) I've some hand arthritis now so I've become more sensitive to the ergo issues in the past decade... The packaging (in Japanese) looks like it comes in S/M/L sizes. I have the medium and had I known there was a small I would have ordered that size, but the Medium is fine.

  • ARS Bypass Hand Pruner - The Best!

I got the ARS HP-VS8R bypass hand pruner with the rotating handle for less than the cost of a Felco F2 classic. The ARS is superior in every way with an extremely sharp edge. I tested out a branch cut at 7/8" inch, no problem. Very clean cuts. Repetitive action is even more comfortable with the rotating handle as well. The only issue with ARS is that there is not a distributor in the US, but I didn't mind waiting a little longer from an eBay vendor direct from Japan. It's the best, worth the wait. Great deal.

  • Best pruner

My Fiskers which I had used for years died. I searched on line in depth, and finally selected this model. It was a great choice. I have used it for several weeks now. It is the best pruner I have ever used, well worth the price.

  • Sharp!

These are my first shears and I don't is how I did have lived without them all these years. The blades are sharp, so be careful. I like the rotating handle - puts less stress on the wrist.
