Good unit....but the fan noise is noticeable.

It does everything as advertised. The LED screen in scroll mode is a nice feature which runs through a loop of all the parameters...voltage, battery percentage remaining etc, The only negative is the fan noise, This is for a home theater and the fan is a little loud in the room. Other than that, it's a great battery backup for the price.

Not a unit for professionals; shuts off to protect equipment when it could switch to batteries.

As a professional, I've run data centers for OTHER people (corps) since 1986, and, in addition to continuing to do so for others, for my own organization since 1995, and this type of product is an imperative. Power spikes and power failures, brown-outs and so forth HAPPEN, and not having one of these WILL eventually lead to damaged equipment and lost data (though both not necessarily at the same time). We got this unit about a year and a couple of months ago, when our old APC unit finally died after over 20 years of service. During a year and a couple of months of service we had had a number of power outages and this unit transitioned to the batteries just fine, so we thought all was OK. However last night we had an outage where there was a significant power spike - we know because we saw the lights brighten momentarily before going out - and THIS unit decided to shut off and NOT transition to the batteries! Important data: 1) When the power went off, the unit shutdown, thus shutting down our whole computer rack. 2) Power back, the unit did NOT turn back on. 3) Investigation proved the batteries were fully charged. 4) In discussing things with their tech support, they acknowledged that this unit shuts off "if it thinks the power wave (a reference to the waveform of the AC) would be harmful to equipment." They also said, "it has a narrow band of acceptance of the frequency range" (here a reference to the AC frequency, theoretically 60 hz in the USA and 50 in most of Europe, for example). And so, this unit just shut off RATHER than transitioning to the batteries as our former system did. 5) THEY recommend purchase of their "Isobar 4 ultra surge protector" for this problem for which they say somewhere (in the literature that came with the unit) is "a $100 value". As a professional, I find not having that feature integrated simply outside industry norms. But, at least it shut off and protected our equipment. -slap-forehead-

  • Tripp Lite 900W 1500VA Rack Mount UPS

This is my favorite UPS and it just keeps working and working. I have this unit installed at multiple customer sites under heavy loads and it works flawless. At one detention center, there are 5 network video recorders with built in Poe switches powering about 60 IP cameras all plugged into it along with 5 monitors and have been up and running 24/7 for 3 years without a hiccup. I have another one at another detention center with 3 NVR’s and about 42 cameras that has been running for 4 years. Great product.

  • Power safety worth every penny

Replaced my old APC product. What I like best is it integrates directly with my firewall and will tell it to shut down if it is at less than 10% battery left with no added software!

  • Good Stuff

Product quality is great. Had to get replacement batteries, but that's easy as they are a common battery.
