Raw power
If you want to shred, these are just what the doctor ordered. More mid frequency emphasis than most high output or heavy metal inspired pickups, which I think distinguishes them from the pack. It doesn't matter how much headroom you have in your tube amp, these will push you them to break up. Even modest gain channels sound mean with these things.
