The Future of Video Calling
I clicked no, to is it good value but that is a marginal opinion, I would not say it is bad value.
The product is compact, well designed and stylish. it is easy to set up, but takes a bit of time, as it will update not only it's own software, but also that of the accompanying remote control once you have connected it to your router.
Speaking of the remote it is refreshingly small and simple.
I like that it connects to the Facebook messenger group, i.e. also WhatsApp and Instagram.
It is very easy to use, both to call and accept calls. I liked that calling includes voice control, which is surely the future. The integrated Alexa is a bonus, if you have an Amazon account, which I do.
The privacy features are there, a camera cover and an ability to disable the mic at the touch of a button.
The smart camera is particularly impressive, zooming in and out as people leave or enter the room and conversation and following you if you move around.
Connection to the TV sets this product apart from other portal products and tablet d-vices or phones for messaging as the picture can be big enough to be a distance from the screen, gone are the selfie types of pictures meaning a more natural conversation as if you are physically present - this is the future. one of our first calls was a 2 hour call between two families and it was just like a visit, no wonder it sold out during the corona virus lock-down. I very highly recommend it, especially as I suspect it will get regular software updates and new features.
The only downside I saw was that with the screen saver being Facebook photos, which is also great, we had to wait for them to start rather than being able to start them by voice or remote command, this should be fixed, and would be easy to do.
