No matter how well he annunciates (and how many Tudor mansions he lives in), he's too recognisable to really take on the mantle of court minstrel.

For those of us caught out of our own time
I love Stings eclectic and magical music. This is his take on medieval pop songs that allows us to stand with a foot in both eras. Fascinating and lovely. A well spun tale in song.

Pure clarity.
What a trip this. Heart grabbing emotion, History and beautiful music written for the voice and words so chosen and placed they give such depth. Sting is a bit gravelly but enjoyed his lower registers....actually this purchase replaces a lost copy, I like it that much. Read the history, then listen and be washed with ships, religion, war, the Queen, the lute, love, rejection, flight and rejection. All there for the taking. I love it, but then I play the recorder, so perhaps I'm out of my time.
