Safer way to handle hot ashes
When used correctly, this ash box allows you to safely carry the hot ash from your boiler stove, without having to carry the ash pan with the handle that was obviously designed to just remove the pan from behind the ash door. The added benefit is that once the ashes are in the box, you can replace the pan and close the ash door so your fire doesn't overheat while you take the ashes outside. Care must still be taken as the box gets as hot as the ash inside it, so don't touch the outsides of the box with bare hands, and don't place it on any flammable surfaces and make sure you leave the handle in the position where it is blocked by the peg on the side of the box so it doesn't touch the side and get hot and give you a nasty surprise when you pick it up. Best practice would be to put the box in a safe place to cool down, away from children and small furry animals.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
